In 2022, Bangladesh made significant strides in addressing the climate crisis through Nature-based Solutions (NbS) and locally-led adaptation (LLA). The country approved the National Adaptation Plan (NAP), integrating NbS and LLA, following the Mujib Climate Prosperity Plan Decade 2030. The NAP emphasizes ecological management, ecosystem restoration, and conservation, requiring $5.9 billion. While the concept of LLA is noted, it lacks detailed elaboration. The Global Commission on Adaptation’s principles for LLA, focusing on local decision-making, social equity, and more, should be adopted in 2023. Capacity development for NbS is ongoing, while knowledge from Bangladesh is contributing to climate change progress globally. Globally, there has been a shift toward a low-carbon economy and a developing green \u201ctechno-economic paradigm.\u201d Least developed countries (LDCs) like Nepal face enormous challenges pivoting towards green techno-economic transformation compared to advanced economies. Although LDCs have contributed the least to climate change, they are at the forefront of the crisis\u2014over the past 50 years, LDCs accounted for 69 percent of all deaths resulting from climate-related disasters.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n
