With only seven years until 2030 to address climate change and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the world faces challenges in meeting its targets. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) highlighted the adverse impacts of human-induced climate change, leading to “loss and damage” globally. At the 27th Conference of Parties (COP27) in 2022, countries agreed to create a new fund to address this issue, a significant victory for vulnerable developing countries like Bangladesh. While Bangladesh has made strides in climate planning, the challenge lies in implementation and a whole-of-society approach. The Sindh Government plans to introduce climate change awareness as a new subject in both public and private universities. Sindh Minister of Universities & Environment, Muhammad Ismail Rahoo, has instructed university officials to work on incorporating this subject. He stressed that climate change has led to high temperatures and drought in Sindh, impacting human health and employment opportunities. Teaching climate change-related subjects can address issues like marine pollution, industrial waste management, and hospital waste. Pakistan is severely affected by climate change, and without awareness, the next generation may face more problems. Rahoo emphasized the urgent need for action, as climate change poses a significant threat to the environment and food production in Pakistan.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n
