This self-paced e-course on loss and damage finance by the International Association of Professionals in Humanitarian Assistance and Protection (PHAP)<\/a><\/strong><\/span> aims to explain the importance of emission inventories for clean air policy development, emission inventory reporting requirements, and emission estimation methods.<\/p>\n

While climate finance and humanitarian response aim to address the negative effects of climate change, they have different mechanisms and distinct forms of loss and damage finance, resulting in poor coordination. Improving coordination between these two sectors is needed to help close the considerable funding gaps that exist for countries most affected by climate change.<\/p>\n

The course features three distinct modules that aim to equip learners with the knowledge and resource materials to understand the purpose of emission inventories, follow the reporting process under the Convention, and contribute to emission inventory development.<\/p>\n

Speakers include: Debbie Hillier, Head of Zurich Flood Resilience Alliance for Mercy Corps; Harjeet Singh Head of Global Political Strategy, Climate Action Network International (CAN-I) and; Angus Urquhart Crisis & Humanitarian Lead, Development Initiatives.<\/p>\n

Co-Facilitators include: Nishanie Jayamaha, Learning, Program and Climate Change Coordinator, ICVA and; Manisha Thomas, Senior Policy Advisor, PHAP.<\/p>\n

The training is part of a series on ‘The Climate Charter: A Practical Guide’ which held its first session on “Adapting to the impacts of the climate and environmental crises<\/a><\/strong><\/span>” on 14 October 2021.<\/p>\n
