Saber Hossain Chowdhury, Special Envoy to the Prime minister for Climate Change, emphasized the critical need for addressing climate change in Bangladesh. He pointed out that climate change currently causes a 2% loss in the country’s GDP, warning that if unaddressed, this could escalate to a 9% loss by 2050.<\/p>\n

He stressed that climate change is a global existential crisis and stated that the nation’s future progress hinges on addressing this challenge. He noted the allocation of Tk37,000 crore in the budget for combating climate change and highlighted the government’s efforts in creating the Climate Change Trust Fund in 2010.
