Temperatures are expected to soar across large parts of the world after the El Nino weather pattern emerged in the tropical Pacific for the first time in seven years, the World Meteorological Organization said on Tuesday. Parts of India have been hit by several rounds of punishing heat waves this year – in April, May, and again in late June, normally the start of the cooler monsoon season. In recent weeks, nearly 200 people reportedly died from heat-related illnesses in the northern states of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
