Climate adaptation and resilience are critical components in confronting the undeniable reality of climate change. South Asia, a region characterized by rapid economic growth over the past two decades, is acutely aware of the looming risks posed by climate-related hazards. To safeguard development gains, South Asian countries, particularly Bangladesh, Nepal, and Pakistan, have embarked on ambitious journeys toward climate-resilient development. Central to these efforts is the Climate Adaptation and Resilience (CARE) for South Asia project, which functions as a catalyst for advancing climate adaptation and resilience initiatives within the region.

South Asian nations recognize that adapting to climate change is not a choice but a necessity. Rising temperatures, shifting weather patterns, and an increase in the frequency and severity of extreme events like floods and cyclones threaten the livelihoods of millions in the region. Building resilience to these challenges is the only viable path forward.

The CARE for South Asia project represents a collective commitment to this path. It serves as a bridge between the urgent need for climate adaptation and the tangible actions required to implement effective strategies. Through the CARE project, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Pakistan have been developing comprehensive policy frameworks, investing in renewable energy sources, strengthening their infrastructure, and engaging local communities.
