As the podiums and parlors of COP26 echoed commitments and calls for action, a clear theme emerged: climate change is guaranteed and we must all plan and prepare for an uncertain future.

But how does one prepare for the unpredictable? Forecasting and early-warning systems, for instance, give experts a calculated glimpse into the future of imminent risks like heavy rainfall or cyclones, thus giving communities a bit more time to get ready or evacuate.

ADPC launches its 7th ‘Climate Talks’ alongside COP26’s discussions and negotiations to bring you key views and perspectives from experts attending the event. This episode focuses on rising risks in South Asia, and how forecasting technology is promoting both adaptation and resilience.

Join Prof. Petteri Taalas as he identifies the various impacts of climate change that South Asian communities can expect in the near future, while Prof. Buddhi Marambe and Mr. Muhammad Arif Goheer respond with current technologies and strategies that are being implemented in Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
