The goal of the National Environmental Policy, issued by the Ministry of Environment, Government of Pakistan, is to protect, conserve and restore Pakistan’s environment. The main objectives of the policy are: conservation, restoration and efficient management; integration of environmental considerations in development processes; capacity building; meeting international obligations; and creating a demand for environmental practices. The policy also provides sectoral and cross-sectoral guidelines, and discusses policy instruments for monitoring and implementation.
