The National Climate Change Policy of Sri Lanka is premised on the goal of adaptation and mitigation of climate change impacts within the framework of sustainable development. The main objectives of the policy are to: sensitize and make aware the communities; take adaptive measures to minimise the adverse effects of climate change; mitigate greenhouse gas emissions, and promote sustainable consumption and production.
