Recommended by an expert group meeting and endorsed by the Seventh Meeting of the SAARC held in Dhaka in February 2006, “Disaster Management in Action” outlines the goals, objectives, and priorities for regional action in disaster management in the SAARC region.
Among other objectives, it also calls for establishing a regional system to develop and implement early warning programmes and projects. It provides a monitoring and evaluation system for measuring progress against the goals and objectives of the regional framework.
